I didn’t truly realize how difficult writing – and getting a book published – can be. I mean, I knew it would take some time. Just not as long as it has.
It’s been roughly two – no, three – decades since I started seriously writing – intending to be published by the age of 20. But now, I’m almost 40 years old, with little – mostly nothing – to show for it.
I tried making book covers, even, to pass some time while I found myself in the middle of a “dry spell”. That turned into a real disaster, because I bought and paid for so many photos/images online, as well as taking dozens upon dozens with my phone’s camera. But, in reality, it was a pointless venture. I’m awful. I don’t believe I will ever truly learn Photoshop Elements (even though it’s MINE), or do satisfactory work that sells. Even at affordable prices, as I’ve tried doing since the beginning.
